CREATOR
Arkiv Vilmansa
ARTIST BACKGROUND
B. 1979 BANDUNG, INDONESIA
Indonesian contemporary artist Arkiv Vilmansa’s cartoon-inspired paintings draw attention to two-dimensional forms with bold contours and lively, vibrant colors. Having trained traditionally in architecture, Vilmansa’s structured and critical methodology contrast with his raw and unrestrained artistic expression. With his own formula for managing painting surfaces and paint texture, Vilmansa’s pop cultured-inspired works explore non-figurative art and cartoon character paintings through the use of color, organic shapes and canvas shapes. Influences on his use of color, shape and line include creative industry leaders Takashi Murakami and NIGO.
